Sweet And Sour Sauteed Cabbage - cooking recipe

1/2 each: small to medium size heads red and green cabbage or all one color
3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
4 Tbsp. butter
1 large or 2 smaller apples, chopped into small 1/3-inch dice
2 1/2 Tbsp. firmly packed brown sugar
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation

Coarsely shred cabbage; set aside.
Melt butter in a heavy skillet.
Add apples; cook them, stirring, for about 3 to 5 minutes, until they begin to soften.
Mix in the lemon juice, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and cloves.
Add cabbage; stir-fry until the cabbage is tender but still crunchy, about 5 to 6 minutes.
Serve right away.
