Crunchy Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers
    2 c. lime
    3 oz. powdered alum
    2 qt. white vinegar
    12 c. sugar (6 lb.)
    2 qt. water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    3 Tbsp. spices
Preparation
    Peel, cut out seed and cut cucumbers into lengthwise strips. Soak 24 hours in 2 gallons of water with 2 cups of lime added.
