Scratch Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or Crisco
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    If self-rising flour is used, omit baking powder and salt. Bake in 2 layers at 350\u00b0 until cake springs back when touched.
