Peasant Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 beef bouillon cubes
6 c. boiling water
1 slice bacon, chopped
1/2 lb. cooked ham, chopped
1 small head cabbage, shredded
1 to 2 onions, sliced
4 small carrots, chopped
1/4 tsp. marjoram
1/4 tsp. thyme
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Dissolve bouillon cubes in boiling water.
Cook bacon and ham in large saucepan until bacon is crisp.
Add bouillon, cabbage, onions, carrots and seasonings.
Cover and simmer for 45 minutes. Serve with cornbread.
