Crispy Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 medium sweet onions
    3 c. buttermilk
    1 c. plain flour
    2/3 c. water
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg, beaten
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
Preparation
    Peel
    and
    slice
    onions about 1/3-inch thick; separate into rings.
    Pour buttermilk into shallow pan; let onion rings soak for
    30
    minutes.
    In
    another
    bowl,
    combine remaining ingredients,
    except
    oil; mix until smooth.
    In a large skillet, heat
    cooking oil, about 1/4-inch deep, over medium high heat. Remove
    onion rings form buttermilk, and dip in batter; fry in hot
    oil until brown.
    Drain on paper towel.
    Serves 6 to 8.
