English Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    24 salted crackers
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
    1 c. pecan pieces
    1 c. butter
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0. Butter 13 x 9-inch pan. Arrange saltines, right side up, in a single layer to cover pan.
    Melt butter and sugar over medium heat; bring to a boil.
    Boil for 3 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat; add vanilla. Pour over saltines and spread evenly. Bake 5 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Sprinkle chips over and spread as they melt. Sprinkle on pecans; cut into squares.
