German Raw Apple Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening (half butter, half shortening)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 c. raw apples, sliced thin
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream shortening; add sugar and eggs.
Sift flour, salt, cinnamon and soda.
Alternately add flour and buttermilk and fold in apples.
Put batter in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes.
Grease and flour pan.
Sprinkle following mixture on top.
