Marinated Slaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 cabbage, sliced into very thin shreds
    1/2 Vidalia onion, sliced into very thin shreds
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. cider vinegar
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. salt
    bell pepper (optional)
Preparation
    Place shredded cabbage and onion into large bowl.
    In small bowl, stir together sugar, vinegar, oil, celery seed and salt. Pour dressing over vegetables, stirring well to coat.
    Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
