Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    dash of salt
    5 eggs, separated
    1/8 tsp. soda, in 1 Tbsp. water
    1 c. butter
    1 c. buttermilk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0. Cream butter and sugar. Add one egg yolk at a time and beat well. Add 1/2 of the flour and 1/2 cup buttermilk and mix. Add rest of milk to soda and water. Add rest of flour, then soda and milk mixture. Beat egg whites stiff and fold into cake mixture. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes.
