New River Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box light brown sugar (2 c.)
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. water
    1 1/2 c. pecan halves
Preparation
    In a heavy pot, blend sugar, water and butter.
    Cook slowly, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
    Add nuts, still stirring.
    Cook until mixture reaches firm ball stage (250\u00b0). Remove from heat; stir about 2 minutes and drop on wax paper (buttered) or in waxed muffin cups for uniform size.
