Southern Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. corn meal
1/4 c. flour
1 whole egg
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients first.
Add onion, buttermilk and well beaten egg in order.
Mix well.
Drop spoonful into hot oil and cook until golden brown.
Serve hot.
