Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. strawberries, washed and hulled
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. cold water
    few drops red food coloring
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Cut up 1 cup strawberries; add to the 1 cup cold water and the 3 tablespoons cornstarch that have been stirred until smooth. Place in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring until thick and clear.
    Stir in a few drops of red food coloring.
    Cool. Stir in remaining berries, reserving 1/4 cup for garnishing.
    Put in a baked pie shell.
    Chill for about 3 hours until firm.
    Top with whipping cream and garnish.
