Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. chopped pitted dates
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. melted shortening
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
    Mix in nuts and dates.
    Combine egg, milk and shortening.
    Add liquid to flour mixture, stirring until flour is well moistened.
    Pour into greased loaf pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
