Old Fashion Syrup Cake(From The 1800'S) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. cane syrup
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. lard
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Mix sugar, lard and eggs.
    Add all other ingredients and bake until done.
    Use a broomstraw to test cake.
    If it comes out clean when punched into cake, the cake is done.
    Makes 3 layers.

    bake in oven at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes.
