Choucroute Garni - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 oz. fully cooked Polish sausage
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. dry white wine
1 tsp. caraway seed
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. cooked, sliced potatoes
2 slices bacon, cut up
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
2 medium green or red apples, cored and cut
Preparation

In skillet cook bacon, onion and garlic until tender.
Drain. Stir in wine, sugar, caraway seed, pepper and cloves.
Add sauerkraut and potatoes.
Top with sausage.
Bring to a boil, reduce, cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Add apple wedges and cook about 8 minutes until apples are tender.
