Buttermilk Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white cornmeal
    1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. buttermilk or soured milk
    2 Tbsp. hot oil or shortening
Preparation
    Combine dry ingredients.
    Add egg and buttermilk.
    Mix well. Last, add hot oil.
    Mix and pour quickly into greased 9-inch square baking pan.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Makes 9 servings.
