Orange Vanilla French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (10 oz.) loaf day old French or Italian bread
    6 eggs
    3/4 c. orange juice
    1/2 c. heavy cream
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/4 tsp. salt
    grated peel of 1 medium orange
    butter or margarine
    ground nutmeg
Preparation
    Cut bread into 3/4-inch slices.
    Arrange in greased 10 x 15-inch jelly roll pan in single layer.
    Beat first 7 ingredients together.
    Pour over bread, coating both sides.
    Cover and refrigerate 6 hours or overnight.
    In large skillet, heat oleo; sprinkle bread slices with nutmeg and brown
    on both sides.
    Serve with syrup or preserves.
