Krispy Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    25 to 30 medium sized cucumbers (long and slim)
    8 large white onions
    2 large sweet peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    5 c. cider vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. cloves (whole)
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and slice paper thin (use a slice).
    Chop onions and peppers.
    Combine with cucumbers and salt.
    Let stand 3 hours and drain.
    Combine vinegar, sugar and spices in a large kettle.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add drained cucumbers.
    Heat thoroughly but do not boil.
    Pack while hot into sterilized jars and seal at once.
