Croatian Donuts(Prikle) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. warm water
    2 packets dry yeast, dissolved in warm water
    1 chopped apple
    1 c. raisins, soaked in hot water and drained
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast with warm water; add 1/2 cup flour and set aside to rise.
    Add yeast mixture to other ingredients; mix all together and let rise.
    Mixture will be moist.
    Drop by teaspoon into hot oil and fry until brown on both sides.
    Drain on paper towel.
    May add sugar for appearance and extra sweetness.
