Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 sq. unsweetened chocolate
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. soft butter
    2 1/2 c. light brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Melt chocolate over hot water; let cool.
    Sift flour with soda and salt; set aside.
    In large bowl, beat at high speed on electric mixer the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla for about 3 minutes, until light and smooth.
    At low speed, beat in chocolate. Beat in flour mixture alternately with buttermilk.
    Beat in water until smooth.
    Pour into 3 greased pans.
    Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Frost as desired.
