Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. yellow cornmeal
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening or bacon grease and oil
    1 can cream-style corn
    1 lb. ground meat, browned
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 small onion, chopped and browned
    4 chopped jalapeno peppers
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add eggs, milk and shortening. Beat with a fork; do not overbeat.
    Add canned corn.
    Pour half into greased cast-iron heavy frypan.
    Add seasoned meat, onion and peppers.
    Add rest of cornmeal batter.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 to 50 minutes.
