Caramel Cake(Burnt Sugar) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 c. water
    2 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. caramelized sugar syrup*
    2 c. flour
    2 egg yolks
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    *To Make Caramelized Sugar:
    Place 1/2 cup sugar and 1/4 cup hot water in skillet over medium heat; stir constantly until melted and quite dark.
    Remove from fire.
    Add 1/4 cup hot water; stir until dissolved.
    Cool.
