Mexican Hash - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 large onions, chopped
    1/4 c. bacon drippings or 1/2 stick butter
    1 c. finely diced cooked beef
    2 tsp. chili powder
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 can kidney beans
    2 c. shredded lettuce
Preparation
    Saute chopped onions in a large skillet for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    Add beef, chili powder, salt and pepper; cook 1 minute.
    Add kidney beans and mix well.
    Cook slowly for 15 minutes, turning occasionally to blend in any crisp crust.
