Dirt Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
    1 pkg. slivered almonds
    1 container caramel ice cream topping
    1 pkg. pecan sandies cookies
    1/2 stick margarine
Preparation
    Let ice cream set out and soften.
    Melt margarine.
    Crush about 2 cups of the cookies.
    Mix together with the melted margarine.
    Press and cover the bottom of a pie plate.
    Reserve about 1/2 cup of the crumbs.
    Drizzle some of the topping over the crust.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 of the almonds.
    Press ice cream over the crust.
    Drizzle remaining topping over the top of ice cream. Top with remaining almonds.
    Return to freezer.
