Christmas Treats(Popcorn Balls) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. Karo (white or dark)
    1/3 c. molasses
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    2/3 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/8 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Bring the first 6 ingredients to boil, then add cream of tartar.
    Boil to 270\u00b0 crack stage.
    Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and soda.
    Have ready 6 quarts of popped corn kept warm in the oven.
    (This helps when coating the corn with the syrup mixture.)
    Use a wooden spoon and stir in the syrup mixture, thoroughly coating the popped corn.
    Tell everyone to get their hands ready to form the balls.
    (Wash and butter hands.)
    Popcorn balls can be made to your size criteria.
    Some like big ones.
    I make mine small and lightly packed.
