Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. unsalted peanuts
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preparation
    In a medium heavy saucepan, combine sugar, water and syrup. Cook, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.
    Continue cooking, stirring constantly, to hard crack stage or until mixture reaches 285\u00b0 on a candy thermometer.
    Remove from heat.
    Add peanuts and baking soda; beat for 3 minutes.
    Immediately pour mixture into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
    Let cool completely in pan.
    Break into pieces in pan.
    Makes 1 1/4 pounds.
