Sour Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. potatoes
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    3 Tbsp. lard (Crisco)
    1 small onion, minced
    1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 or 2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
    1 bay leaf
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 c. sour cream
    1 Tbsp. minced parsley (optional)
Preparation
    Peel potatoes and cut into 1/2-inch squares.
    Cook in 2 1/2 cups of water with the bay leaf, pepper and salt until potatoes are half done.
