Ranch Style Pear Preserves - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 qt. pears, peeled and sliced
1 qt. sugar
Preparation

In large porcelain pot, pour sugar over fruit and let stand overnight.
Next day, simmer until fruit is translucent and juice becomes medium syrup, but still covers fruit.
While still simmering, pour into hot sterilized canning jars and seal with new, sterilized canning lids.
Let stand until cool without disturbing.
Lids will pop and be concave.
