Gypsy Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. lentils
    5 c. water
    15 oz. can tomato sauce (with bits)
    1 c. sliced carrot
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 lb. ham
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. marjoram
Preparation
    Combine ingredients in 3-quart kettle and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, covered, about 2 hours, until lentils are tender.
