Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. split or whole brown lentils
    7-8 c. water
    1/4 c. uncooked rice
    1 lg. onion, coarsely chopped
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 c. olive oil
Preparation
    Rinse and drain lentils.
    Place in pan with water.
    Cook for 15 minutes.
    Add rice.
    Meanwhile while cooking lentils, saute onions in olive oil till golden.
