French Toast Casserole - cooking recipe

10 oz. loaf French or Italian bread (no seeds)
8 large eggs
3/4 c. milk
4 tsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Grease a large baking dish.
Cut bread into 3/4 to 1-inch thick slices.
Arrange in one layer in dish.
