2 c. self-rising cornmeal
1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 egg
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. shortening, melted
Preparation

Mix ingredients well.
Bake in a large greased iron skillet at 450\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown.
