Shepherd'S Sweet Potato Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. lean ground mutton
1/2 c. fine dry breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
3 c. hot mashed sweet potatoes
1/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1/4 c. heavy cream
2 eggs, lightly beaten
freshly grated nutmeg
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0.
Mix together mutton, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Place in a 9-inch pie plate and pat with fingers to line bottom and sides, like a pie crust.
Refrigerate until well chilled.
Combine sweet potatoes, sugar, cream and eggs, mixing well.
Spoon mixture into prepared meat crust, dot top with butter and dust with nutmeg.
Bake until knife blade inserted into center comes out clean, about 45 minutes.
