Crispy Baked Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 whole fryer
    3/4 tsp. thyme
    1 tsp. margarine
    1 small onion
    margarine or butter
    seasoned salt (if desired)
    seasoned pepper (if desired)
Preparation
    Wash fryer, pat dry and then rub with butter all over. Sprinkle thyme inside cavity with 1 teaspoon of margarine and the small onion.
    Sprinkle outside of chicken with seasoned salt and pepper, if desired.
    Bake on rack over pan with 1/2 to 1 inch of water.
    Bake at 475\u00b0 for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes, then finish baking at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
