Strawberry-Pecan Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. yellow cake mix
    2 c. heavy cream, whipped and slightly sweetened
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries, partially thawed
    4 eggs, separated
    1 c. chopped pecans
    pecan halves and whole strawberries
Preparation
    Make cake as directed on package, substituting the egg yolks for eggs required.
    Spoon cake batter into 3 buttered and floured 9-inch square cake pans.
