Canned Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 qt. apples, peeled and sliced
6 c. sugar
2 tsp. yellow food coloring
6 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. lemon juice
10 c. water
1 1/2 c. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. water
Preparation

Peel and slice apples (set aside).
Mix together sugar, food coloring, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, lemon juice and water.
Cook until heated through.
Add to apples and boil for 20 minutes. Fill quart jars 1/2 full of liquid and fill with apples.
Make sure liquid covers apples.
Seal and put in canner.
Process 10 minutes.
