Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak, cut in strips
    1/2 c. salad oil
    1 tsp. salt
    garlic salt
    1 tsp. soy sauce
    1/4 c. water
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
    2 tomatoes, cut 1/2-inch thick
Preparation
    Brown meat; add salt, garlic, soy sauce and water.
    Cook for 45 minutes.
    Add more water as needed.
    Put vegetables in and cook for 10 minutes.
    Stir in cornstarch, blended in 1/4 cup water.
    Add tomatoes and cook 5 minutes.
    Serve over steamed rice.
