Marinara Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    15 oz. can tomato sauce
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder
    4 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. basil leaves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Preparation
    Place oil in saucepan.
    Saute onions until transparent.
    Add tomato sauce, garlic powder, sugar, oregano, basil, salt and pepper.
    Reduce heat to low and cover.
    Simmer 20 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
    Sprinkle Parmesan, if desired.
