Apple Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 6 apples
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. shortening
    water
    1/2 ?? butter of margarine
    1 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Peel apples; dice into small pieces and set aside.
    Mix together the flour and shortening.
    Add enough water to form a soft dough.
    Divide dough into biscuit size sections.
    Roll each section as flat as possible.
    Put apples on flattened dough; fold each area of circle up, tucking at top to seal in apples.
    Place these in a greased baking dish.
