Real Mexican Chili - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. chili meat, seasoned with salt and pepper
1 tsp. comino seed
2 1/2 Tbsp. chili powder
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 c. shortening
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp. onion, chopped
1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
1/3 c. pulp and water from Mexican chilies that have been boiled and peeled (2 or 3 chillies)
Preparation

Mix chili powder and flour.
Add the meat.
Fry a small piece of tallow in shortening.
When very hot, fry in the garlic and the onions until very clear.
Add meat mixture and stir constantly until well browned.
Add tomatoes and chillies.
Pour into meat mixture 1 1/2 quarts boiling water and simmer until done, about 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
