Indian Spoonbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can cream corn
    3/4 c. milk
    1/3 c. melted Crisco
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 c. corn meal
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies
    2 c. grated cheese, divided
Preparation
    Mix corn, milk, Crisco, eggs, corn meal, soda and salt well. Pour half the batter into a 9 x 9-inch greased pan. Spread chilies over batter. Sprinkle 1 cup grated cheese over chilies. Pour remaining batter on top. Sprinkle with additional 1 cup grated cheese. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
