Butter Nut Drops - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 egg, separated
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. flour
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
2 Tbsp. grated orange rind
1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
1/2 c. finely ground pecans or Brazil nuts
red or green candied cherries, halved
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Cream butter and sugar well.
Add egg yolk and flavoring.
Combine dry ingredients and add alternately with the juice and rinds.
Mix thoroughly; cover and refrigerate for easy handling.
Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Beat egg white slightly.
Spread nuts on waxed paper.
Roll dough into tiny balls; dip in egg white and roll in nuts.
Place on greased cookie sheet 1 inch apart.
Press cherry on top of each and bake 25 minutes.
Makes 40.
