Country Market Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. dry bean soup mix*
    4 c. water
    2 (10 1/2 oz.) cans chicken broth
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 c. diced ham
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped
Preparation
    Place beans in a Dutch oven.
    Cover with water 2 inches above beans and soak overnight.
    Drain off water, leaving beans in Dutch oven; add water, chicken broth and pepper.
    Cover and bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hours or until beans are tender.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
