Carrot Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 eggs
    1 c. carrots, grated
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped dates
    3/4 c. raisins
    1 1/2 c. bread crumbs
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Cream margarine and sugar.
    Add eggs and blend well.
    Add grated carrots.
    Add sifted flour, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.
    Mix nuts, dates, raisins and bread crumbs and add to mixture.
    Steam 2 hours in a shortening can or quart fruit jars with lids.
    Don't fill the containers more than half to 3/4 full to allow for expansion.
    The sealed fruit jars will keep several months.
