Lemon Sour Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    dash of salt
    1 c. milk
    3 egg yolks, slightly beaten
    4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. shredded lemon peel
    1/4 c. lemon juice
    1 c. dairy sour cream
    6 Tbsp. sugar
    3 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt; slowly stir in the milk. Cook and stir until mixture is boiling and thickened.
    Blend small amounts of hot mixture into the slightly beaten yolks; return to hot mixture.
    Cook and stir 2 minutes.
    Add the butter, lemon peel and the lemon juice.
    Cover and cool.
    Fold in the sour cream.
