Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. plain flour, sifted three times
    3 c. sugar
    5 eggs, separated
    1 c. butter
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 tsp. lemon extract
Preparation
    Thoroughly cream shortening and 2 cups of sugar.
    Add the five egg yolks, vanilla and lemon extract.
    Beat thoroughly.
    Then add dry ingredients, alternating with buttermilk.
    Beat smooth after each addition.
    Beat the egg whites until stiff and add final cup of sugar.
    Beat until stiff.
    Fold into the batter. Bake in a well-greased tube pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
