Syrian Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. warm water
2 pkg. yeast (compressed or active dry)
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. oil
5 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Measure warm water in a bowl.
Crumble in yeast; stir to dissolve.
Add salt, sugar and oil.
Stir in 1/2 flour.
Beat until smooth.
Add remaining flour.
Knead until smooth.
Place dough, smooth side down, in a greased bowl.
Turn to grease all sides.
Cover; let rise 45 minutes.
Press down and let rise 15 more minutes.
Divide in 4 parts.
Flatten with knuckles.
Let rise 20 or 30 minutes.
Bake 20 to 30 minutes at 375\u00b0.
