New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 strips bacon
2 Tbsp. bacon grease
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
4 oz. chopped clams, drained and chopped, add water to clam liquid to make 3 c. (save for later)
2 c. potatoes, peeled and chopped
2 c. milk
Preparation

Fry bacon until crisp.
Drain on paper towel and crumble. Drain off all the grease, except one tablespoon.
Add onion and saute until golden brown.
Combine flour, salt and pepper.
Stir into onion mixture until blended.
Add clam juice.
Stir until smooth.
