Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. corn meal
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar (optional)
2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
3 tsp. melted Crisco or cooking oil
Preparation

Mix dry ingredients; add melted Crisco, beaten egg and buttermilk.
Pour into an iron skillet and bake 1 hour or until done.
Pour 1/2 stick margarine over bread.
