Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/3 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. buttermilk or 3/4 tsp. vinegar plus plain milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. mashed, overripe bananas
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Sift dry ingredients together.
    Using low speed of mixer, add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk and vanilla, beginning and ending with dry ingredients.
    Add mashed bananas and nuts.
    Mix lightly.
    Pour in greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
